KESKUSTAN OPISKELIJALIITTO - THE UNION OF CENTRE STUDENTS

Structure

The day to day work is lead by Secretary General and the Board (this year consists of 14 members, incl. President, two VPs, subsitutes and a representative of the Finnish Centre Youth and Finnish Student Sports Federation). KOL also has networks working as expert bodies. In 2009, it is planned that the networks organise thematically based seminars on different subjects all around Finland, as our activities cover the whole country.
Politics

Some main goals in the year 2010:

- to support members’ active participation in the society in a wide sense
- to activate the local groups
- to support the Finnish Centre’s ideological work
- to support the candidates in municipal elections
- to provide the students’ view on the issues concerning higher education for the
Finnish Centre

Events

In 2010, KOL has events to train the members in organisational work and events that discuss the issues of ideology and political issues. KOL holds approximately one seminar or training session each month during the semesters (January - May and September - December).

International aspect

KOL is a Member Organisation of LYMEC (European Liberal Youth), NCF (Nordic Centre Youth) and LYBS (Liberal Youth of Baltic Sea) as well as many national internationally-minded organisations.
